Genuine replies from 1880s and 1890s problem pages. Captions encouraged on Sunday only #GirlsOwnCC and comment (sarcastic or sweet) the rest of the week
So it’s a wee bit of a leap over to the 🦋 place, where I’ve got 70 followers rather than 33,000, but some of the nicest people are already there and I hope more friends give it a try. See you there for the Sunday caption contest, my name there is also @GirlsOwn

The rhymes are imperfect in the verse you send, but they have some poetical feeling. We are sure you had pleasure in writing them, so by all means continue, but please do not send them to us for publication.

‘Rose’ enquiries if it be “proper for a gentleman to speak to a lady at the seaside without an introduction.” Does she really feel doubtful as to the license which the proximity of saltwater and sand may concede? Is a man to forget his honour in the breezes of a watering-place?
We have read your poems with great attention, and see by your close imitation of them how you appreciate Tennyson and Christina Rossetti. [Implying plagiarism? I rather like the thought of a reader testing @GirlsOwn to see if she’d lambast even their poetic works.]
