Even kids were able to identify all the cool features of these trains, including working breaks and doors!

Stimmt völlig. Für 3D-Druck-Startups ist Wachstumskapital hier Mangelware. Banken finanzieren keine Innovation. Andere Standorte bieten deutlich besseren Kapitalzugang.
Ja, @thinkBTO hat Recht. Wir brauchen mehr Selfmade-Milliardäre in Deutschland, Wäre ein Musk hierzulande möglich gewesen? Stattdessen dominieren hier die Nullsummengläubigen und Neider.

128 Wochen Wartezeit 🏭 Solche Engpässe treffen die Fertigung hart. In Deutschland kommt das zur schwierigen Finanzierung noch hinzu. Regionen mit besserem Kapitalzugang und Infrastruktur werden hier klar im Vorteil sein.

our laser line tracking device is doing quite good:
1. ~$200 cost
2. real time - 7.55 ms latency
3. ±0.014mm height and ±0.049mm width measurements against a calibration gauge
4. completely hands-off calibration and tests in the light box via ai agent

We inverted an OTC robot because of the enormous swing diameter of the 3-axis positioner we built for this project. This was the biggest SP3000 positioner I ever did. 3000# per side payload. I think it was like 10-11ft between faceplates. We didn't do a ton of OTC robots, but those things have some really good welding power supplies! #robotics #roboticwelding

MIT Press published a robotics textbook.
Then put it on GitHub for FREE. 📌
"Introduction to Autonomous Robots" covers everything:
kinematics, sensors, actuators, motion planning, localization, computer vision, and neural networks... from mechanisms all the way to algorithms.
It's written for undergraduates. Which means it's actually readable.
Most robotics textbooks assume you're already deep in the field. This one builds everything from the ground up, step by step, with real examples. Stanford's Mac Schwager called it "much-needed" (because it genuinely is).
Four professors at the University of Colorado Boulder spent years building it from lecture notes. MIT Press published it. Then they open-sourced the whole thing under Creative Commons.

If you're trying to understand how autonomous robots actually work (not just the frontier research, but the foundations), this is where to start.
