NEWS — Top Maryland Dems in the state, including Senate President Bill Ferguson, are discussing the possibility of redrawing the state's congressional map, multiple sources told

In statement, Ferguson spokesman says he has communicated to other Maryland Dems that he is "open to a conversation" on redistricting.
Ferguson opposed an effort to redraw the map last year. Now, his team says Ferguson is "as outraged as the Governor about what is happening in the country and understands that the stakes are even higher.”
This week, national Dems on Capitol Hill have been publicly and privately squeezing Dems in Annapolis to take up redistricting.
The state currently has just one GOP-heavy district on the Eastern Shore
