"EAT THE RICH” A classic example of the poisoned socialist mind. Socialists often fail to grasp a fundamental economic reality: the total level of wealth in a society is not fixed. It is not a static pie to be sliced and fought over. Wealth rises and falls—and, crucially, wealth must be created through human ingenuity, risk-taking, innovation, and productive effort. This misunderstanding leads them to view Elon Musk’s potential path to becoming a trillionaire—driven largely by the success of SpaceX—as an act of taking wealth from others, thereby making everyone else poorer. In their zero-sum worldview, one person’s gain is necessarily another’s loss. They assume Musk’s fortune must have been extracted through exploitation or manipulation rather than earned by generating enormous new value. In reality, SpaceX has done the opposite. By dramatically reducing the cost of launching payloads into orbit (from tens of thousands of dollars per kilogram to a few thousand or less), the company has created vast new wealth that did not exist before. This includes:Thousands of high-paying jobs and a thriving ecosystem of suppliers and partners. Rapidly expanding satellite internet (Starlink) that connects remote and underserved communities worldwide. Enabling new industries such as commercial space stations, asteroid mining prospects, point-to-point Earth transport, and large-scale scientific research. Technological spillovers that benefit other sectors, from advanced materials to software and propulsion systems. Every successful launch and reusable rocket landing represents genuine wealth creation—turning resources, ideas, and labor into capabilities that expand humanity’s economic frontier. The customers (governments, companies, and individuals) voluntarily pay for these services because they receive more value than they give up. Musk’s wealth, in this framework, is a rough reflection of the massive value created for society. Socialists who have rarely, if ever, built or scaled enterprises themselves often miss this dynamic entirely. They see only the billionaire’s share and ignore the broader pie that has grown larger for everyone involved. SpaceX’s achievements don’t impoverish others—they enrich the world by unlocking new possibilities that benefit billions, often in ways we are only beginning to measure. True economic understanding begins with this principle: Wealth must be created. Those who focus solely on redistribution while attacking the creators of that wealth ultimately threaten the very source of prosperity they claim to champion. And if you are wondering how that works out, just look at Venezuela - after they "ate the rich" - they were eating the animals in the zoo so they wouldn’t starve.
