Dear me. May I propose a reality tv show in which we force a bunch of constitutional law profs to watch this on repeat until there's only one who hasn't left the room screaming and muttering to themselves.
Danielle Smith when asked if the Sovereignty Act will stop a federal emissions cap...
First nods, and then explains that the Sovereignty Act is a notwithstanding clause for Alberta to use on federal legislation it doesn't want.
(It's not)

You cannot invoke the notwithstanding clause to immunize yourself or your province from the application of federal law. Either Don Braid doesn't know this, which is disqualifying, or he does and decided to write that constitutional chemtrail anyway, which might be worse.
Oh, and the coverage that just passively amplifies the Alberta government/industry studies that have been debunked and unpacked?
You're not doing journalism --- you're doing stenography.

The assumption here that it's women's choices that demand examination and justification and not men's is 99% of the answer to the chauvinistic question below
Why have women under 30 become more left-leaning than their male counterparts? Gen Z liberals and conservatives debate:
βIf you are just your typical male, you are automatically assumed to be sexist or racist by Democrats just for being your typical white male.β
βDonald Trump running for president. He said you could do anything, grab βem by the pussyβ¦.I think that deterred women from the Republican Party in general.β

WTF @centralsaanich !!? The Mayors in BC are always complaining about provincial interference and maybe this is why the province is pushing them !!! #bcpoli
The affordable housing project for veterans, seniors and healthcare workers ticks a lot of boxes. That's why the people behind the proposal assumed it was a shoo-in.

I don't think it is being driven by immigration.
I think the housing shortage issue has a lot more to do with local red tape/permitting/regulatory burden and provincial policy, much more than anywhere else.
To imply that the cost of living issue is being driven by immigration is to ignore the fact that our housing crisis has been building for 30 years and we are a few years away from a demographic crisis of epic proportions.
For the millionth time, please stop pushing governments to commit to emissions targets decades from now and start pushing them to commit to policies and to provide projections of what those policies will achieve. A target with no policies is an excuse, not a plan.
why doesn't Maple MAGA have a mind of their own? I see them yapping about how the fix is in because it's taking a few days to make sure the vote count is right in BC. really? do they really think someone is stealing the election? wow
People are free to gamble in/with their TFSAs if they want to -- or if they have so many other investments that they can afford to take the risk.
But let's not prudence-wash this stuff and pretend it's a good strategy for everyone else.
The thing that @mattgurney is missing here is the spectre of political violence. We are in an era where the word βtreasonβ is thrown around too easily, and if you tar someone as a traitor when they were merely naΓ―ve or unwitting, they are a now a target. readtheline.ca/p/matt-gurneyβ¦
