Dundee Axe Girl Update.
- Bulgarian Nationals Appear In Court.
A major courtroom development has delivered vindication for two brave Dundee schoolgirls at the heart of last summer's viral Axe Girl incident and reignited outrage over why the initial focus fell on the victims instead of the predators.
On August 23, 2025, shocking mobile phone footage from a St Ann Lane car park in Lochee captured 12 year old Lola fearlessly waving a knife and an axe to protect her 13 year old sister Ruby and other young friends from two adults who approached them.
The clip went viral, racking up millions of views and turning Lola into a symbol of rebellion against a foreign menace.
@elonmusk weighed in publicly, questioning why little girls defending themselves were the ones in the spotlight.
@TRobinsonNewEra described the situation as deeply concerning, highlighting the sisters fear amid the confrontation.
The police targeted the children.
Lola was charged with possessing offensive items and referred to children's services.
Officials dismissed claims of sexual threats as misinformation, while media outlets emphasized the girls troubled backgrounds.
Further investigation, including CCTV and witness statements painted a very different picture.
Today, Ilia Belov, 22, and Nadjedzha Belova, 20, both Bulgarian nationals living in Lochee, are appearing at Dundee Sheriff Court for trial facing charges over their behaviour towards four girls aged 12 to 14, including Lola and her little sister Ruby.
The accusations are disturbing:
- Belov allegedly approached and followed the terrified children, directed disgusting sexual remarks at them, including telling one come here sexy, I will show you how to have a good time, seized one girl by force, smashed her head against a pole and violently shoved her to the ground.
- Belova is accused of grabbing another girl by the hair, yanking her down repeatedly, dragging her along and punching her repeatedly on the head causing injury.
Both have pleaded not guilty and deny the charges.
The trial is underway at Dundee Sheriff Court.
