10x... Can work in a very greenfield app and prototypes, but at least today that's not true for mature applications 🤔

The real bottleneck was never writing code. It's releasing it, debugging it, & keeping it running well. So when @Honeycombio CTO Charity Majors set a productivity target, she didn't chase 10x. She chose 2x, & built from there.

Mood: Aeroméxico gate agent scammed me. She lied about the carry-on weight limits, and forced me to check it in.

I don't doubt the AI hype is a bubble, but I don't agree the whole thing is.
The article is misinterpreted for its title. It talks about training rather than usage, quotes data from 2024, and centers on cost to achieve full replacement (not as an assistant like we use today) 🤔
Bubbles gonna start popping pretty hard once companies realize how AI will break their bank
