It’s true! Today I’m officially launching my campaign for the Ward 4 DC Council seat! Why? It’s simple - Ward 4 families and residents asked me to do so! This campaign is about people, not “teams” “organizations” - it’s about an agenda for Ward 4 crafted by Ward 4! I’m looking forward to this race! Learn more, donate, and volunteer on my site! gorefordc.com

I appreciate the tone of this piece..
Check out a piece I wrote for @51stnews about the moment DC is facing: Trump’s assault on our democracy and economy, and the need for leadership to meet the moment and move our city forward. Tomorrow, I’m asking you to rank me #1 for Mayor. I’ll fight and deliver for ALL DC. 51st.news/kenyan-mcduffie-dc…

The 40-page report issued by OCF on Friday night touches on a number of issues, starting with allegations of close and impermissible coordination between Lewis George's campaign, various unions, and the union-backed PAC. It says that coordination did occur.

As someone who has been fighting for affordable housing in Rock Creek West for years, this resonates with me on so many levels, especially when we had a slew of candidates paddle up "No" at the recent WIN forum to adding affordable housing in Chevy Chase, a position @kenyanmcduffie has agreed with. The candidates on the right side of the room - You got it right! @GregoryJackson @candacetiana @LisaJRaymond @tweetelissa @DoniCrawford @DaOrganizer. We need candidates that get to yes -that prove that government can work to deliver affordable housing in EVERY Ward in this city. No exceptions. And we need government to listen. We've asked for more affordable units and DMPED increased those numbers from 30% to just recently - 45%. #SupporttheCore #AffordableHousing
In the closing days of the D.C. mayoral race, @kenyanmcduffie has published an op-ed in @ggwash (which has endorsed @Janeese4DC) on how he would fix D.C.'s housing crisis. "I pledge to you a policy agenda that will actually deliver new housing," he writes. ggwash.org/view/103817/washi…

My Personal Statement on Donald Trump’s Threat to Intervene in DC Governance Yesterday, Donald Trump once again demonstrated his blatant disregard for democracy by threatening to take over the District of Columbia if Janeese Lewis George is elected as our Mayor. Let me be absolutely clear: this is a dangerous, authoritarian attack on our Home Rule, and a direct insult to the hundreds of thousands of taxpaying Americans who live in our city. Furthermore, this threat is a profound disrespect to every single candidate stepping up to run in the Mayor's race. Donald Trump’s true intent is obvious: to divide us as a city, fracture our party, and turn our local elections into a chaotic national spectacle. Right now, too many people are wasting energy arguing over "which" mayoral candidate this statement benefits politically. That is exactly the distraction Donald Trump wants. He wants us turning on each other and analyzing political maneuvers instead of focusing on the hard, collaborative work required to protect and improve our city. We cannot let him succeed. As an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in @anc34g who fights for our community's voice at the local level, and as your candidate for the At-Large seat on the Democrats United to Free DC slate, I strongly condemn this threat. It serves as a stark reminder of why our slate’s number one platform priority is fighting for DC Statehood and protecting our Home Rule charter from federal overreach. The path to a stronger DC will not be built by a single ideology, a single organization, or a single constituency. It will be built by people who believe DC residents deserve the exact same democratic rights as every other American—and who are willing to work together to defend those rights. We know that protesting in the streets cannot be our only path to statehood. Protecting our city requires a united front of experienced public servants, actively engaged citizens, community leaders, business owners, workers, young people, longtime Washingtonians, and new residents standing together with a shared strategy and purpose. President Trump’s recent threats are a sobering reminder that our greatest challenge is not one group of Democrats versus another. The real challenge is defending the fundamental right of DC residents to govern ourselves. That is exactly why Democrats United to Free DC was formed: to build the broad, strategic coalition needed to protect DC autonomy, advance statehood, and fight back against anti-democratic attacks. By rejecting political distractions, we can get back to the collaborative work that actually impacts our daily lives—delivering better schools, safer streets, and good government across all eight wards. When DC is under attack, division makes us weaker. Unity makes us stronger. Do not let federal politicians divide our beloved DC or silence our voices. If you believe DC’s future should be decided by the people who live here, I am asking for your vote for the At-Large seat, and I ask you to support the entire Democrats United to Free DC slate. Together, we can defend our city, strengthen our democracy, and continue the fight to truly Free DC.

CCF is proud to support @kenyanmcduffie because he doesn't shy away from the hard truths about DC's history, like the deliberate displacement of Black families and restrictive covenants. We need a Mayor who recognizes that true equity requires concrete steps. That is the kind of bold leadership DC deserves.

Enough with the delays! ANC 3/4G Commissioner Bruce Sherman’s draft resolution on the Civic Core is a step backward for three main reasons: ❌ It ignores a decade of community work and the Council-approved plan for the site. ❌ It relies on flawed, amateur surveys that don't even reflect the current proposal. ❌ It unnecessarily stalls progress on a failing community center and library that we urgently need. ANC 3/4G should reject this resolution and get to work fleshing out the details with the city. We need a mix of affordable and workforce housing, plus modern facilities. Read our full opposition letter to his resolution here: 👇 ccforward.org/_files/ugd/ffe…

DC is staring down serious budget constraints. There is no clear, tangible path to city-run grocery stores that would not require major subsidies and ongoing losses. Any candidate suggesting this is unserious and would rather win on gimmicks instead of policy.
So this is interesting: At tonight's @wusa9 mayoral debate, @Janeese4DC opened the door to a public grocery store, much like @NYCMayor has proposed in the Big Apple. "If we have to do a public-owned grocery store, we’ll work towards that," she said.

This is just one org. There were some in w4 that did the same thing but that CM didn’t get to the bottom of it. She just looked the other way and complained about the cut in their budget then swore him back in and took his campaign donation🧐
