🔬 Inside the Lab 🔬 There simply aren’t enough pediatric rheumatologists in the U.S., leaving families driving hours for specialized care — a gap that’s expected to grow over the next 20 years. With support from a Clinician Scholar Educator Award from the Rheumatology Research Foundation, Dr. Jay Mehta explored why trainees choose pediatric rheumatology and how we can better recruit and retain this vital workforce. By listening to fellows and residents, his research aimed to improve mentorship, training and support throughout the career pipeline. Stronger mentorship and career development pathways aren’t just good for clinicians; they mean children with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions can receive expert care closer to home. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is keep moving forward, one “stripe” at a time. Today we’re honoring the Rare Disease community—the fighters, the thinkers, and the dreamers who remind us that even when a journey is rare, you never have to walk it alone. @rarepatientvoic

Oh, you thought it was just "a little bit of arthritis"? Let’s clear something up with the help of this mic-drop graphic. 🎤 RHEUMATOID DISEASE is an autoimmune condition. That means my immune system is extra. Like, "let's attack perfectly healthy tissues just for kicks" extra.

November is #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth, a time to recognize and honor caregivers who provide essential support to loved ones with health needs each year. Family caregivers are a cornerstone of our healthcare system, dedicating countless hours of unpaid, life-changing care for loved ones all while balancing careers, family life, and their own personal healthcare needs at the same time. We recognize the unique challenges caregivers and their loved ones face within the rheumatology community. Their strength and commitment inspire our ongoing efforts to advance research and training to improve the health of patients living with rheumatic disease. #NFCM #Caregiving

In our Spoonie world, every little piece of knowledge matters—whether it’s a tip for navigating flares, a trick for making doctor appointments easier, or simply sharing what helps you through the hardest days. When you share your light, you help someone else find their way through the darkness. ✨Your experience could be the spark someone else needs to keep going. What’s one lesson or piece of wisdom you’ve learned on your chronic illness journey that you’d pass along to another person?
