Impactfulness should be why coaches coach. The most influential person in a player's amateur baseball career can be an array of people. Ranging from high school coaches, travel ball coaches, college coaches, private instructors, strength coaches, etc. There can also be the most influential at different segments of careers. Undoubtedly a kids coaches and instructors during his high school career can either be the gas or the water. They can either ignite a kids interest and desire or they can diminish it. I've watched a JV coach who is a current pro player ignite his teams interest and desire. His impact has changed how his players look, act, interact with each other, compete and play the beautiful game of baseball. Victor Castillo played junior college baseball, D1 baseball and is now a professional player in the Frontier League. He is giving back to his high school alma mater by impacting a tremendous amount of kids. His players will now consider him a trusted mentor that impacted their careers because he earned it.

NLB 15u wins opener at 2D Sports Red Stick Championship. NLB 11 Craze Baseball 5 Thomas Derzypolski (Leon HS) earned the win. Derzypolski worked 2.1 innings, scattered 4 hits, allowed 1 earned, struck out 2 and didn't walk a hitter. Harvey Coots (Pace HS) (2), Graham Ghio (Leon HS) (2), Beau Butler (Thomasville HS) and Joel Barnes (Niceville HS) (2) collected hits. Brantley Davidson (Mosley HS), Coots, Ghio, Parker West (Chiles HS) (2), Butler and Barnes contributed RBI's. NLB will continue play this evening.
