lol UMD gave me tenure and then celebrated my promotion by skipping a paycheck and canceling my health insurance. We'll be ok. Most won't. It's not because of my union leadership, it's because we are underfunded and a swathe of HR vacancies were just made permanent.

After the provost's "do more with less" mandate was handed down , our college's payroll lead noted that her (limited) staff were already doing weekends unpaid to get fall appointments in. We would be fine if taxes went up 0.1% or if we got the ~$20m annual subsidy to athletics.
