Israel's invasion of Gaza City represents an escalation that will bring untold suffering to innocent civilians. It’s clear Netanyahu’s genocide won’t stop just because of stern words – Australia should apply the same level of sanctions on Israel as we have on Russia.

It is a cruel irony to use the law to stop a peaceful march while Israel's violation of international law in Gaza goes on unabated. Our voices will not be silenced, we will join the thousands of people who will march and who continue to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza.

This Sunday thousands of people will take part in a nationwide march for Palestine, including in Meanjin/Brisbane, where I will proudly join them. While the march across the Story Bridge has been denied by the courts, the event will still begin at 1pm in Raymond Park as planned.

Eid Mubarak! Happy Eid Al-Adha to all who celebrate. This Eid we're thinking of everyone suffering from the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We will not stop pushing for an end to this invasion.

We tried to raise #JobSeeker to $88 a day. But Labor, the Liberals, One Nation, Babet & Lambie all voted to keep people in poverty. There’s always enough for nuclear submarines, coal & gas, and the billionaires, but never for those who really need our help.

Greens introduced an amendment to raise the amount people can earn while on Centrelink, expanding the income free area from $150 to $300 a fortnight. Both Labor & Liberals voted it down, even though it would help thousands of Australians & a measure the Libs supposedly supported.

The PM is throwing money parties for military contractors and the mega rich and continuing to subsidize property speculators and slumlords but apparently it's the Greens who treat money like it's Monopoly.

Wage theft on this scale is incredible. Low paid workers suffer in one of our most profitable firms in one our most concentrated industries. Serious consequences must flow. theage.com.au/business/workp…

AAD staff are languishing in uncertainty. The Govt must address fears about what science programs will be axed as a result of a $25 million cut to the division. Science is the currency of the Antarctic Treaty & if Aus wants a leadership role in the region it must fund science.

Labor has reintroduced the same Housing Australia Future Fund as they did in Feb. A plan that doesn’t guarantee a cent in housing funding, gambles $10bn on the stock market, does nothing for renters & will see the housing crisis get worse, just for a double dissolution trigger.

The Australian government created a brutal detention system designed to inflict grievous harm on innocent people including children, and relied on corruption to enable it. If that does not warrant a Royal Commission then not much does.

Woodside is a corporate villain, pure and simple. They are destroying the planet, reaping billions in profits, they have the Labor and Liberal parties wrapped around their fingers and now they are trying to bankrupt two women who dared challenge their dangerous expansion plans.
