ALT A Flood Watch for Flash Flooding is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday morning for areas along/near the Blue Ridge Escarpment in the western Carolinas. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

ALT Storm total rainfall amounts through Tuesday across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. 2 to 4 inches of rain are expected across most of the forecast area with slightly lower amounts for locations along the NC/TN border. The heaviest rainfall and greatest risk for flash flooding is expected along the Blue Ridge Escarpment and the southern and eastern-facing slopes of the mountains in western North Carolina. Rainfall totals of 3-5 inches with isolated amounts between 6 and 8 inches are possible in these areas.

ALT Tornado threat across northeast Georgia and the South Carolina Upstate on Monday. A few Isolated, weak tornadoes are possible Monday afternoon and early evening.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect through 2pm. Highs will end up well above normal this afternoon, climbing into the 70s east of the mountains.
