Firstly there is zero evidence the dog hated racing. Secondly, finding forever homes for these athletes if the goal. They are not discarded. Lastly, the dog looks pissed it was placed with a hippy activist moron who can't spell Timothy, but is happy to use the dog as a prop.
I hated racing. Living my best life now, as a therapy dog. #NationalGreyhoundWeek #NationalRescueGreyhoundWeek

Hearing lots anti-racing noise about Tasmanian greyhound racing being subsidised in some way which implies charity. Lets just put that to bed right now. The Tas govt. earns more from greyhound racing that it distributes. If anything greyhounds subsidise harness & horses.

Based on 2024 turnover data, Tasmanian greyhound racing generated ~37% of total racing wagering (266M out of 713M across codes), but received ~20% of govt distributions (7.3M out of 37M). This supports your point on revenue vs. funding shares. For context, a May 2025 Eslake report notes rising subsidies amid industry decline.

There has been a confirmed case of Leptospirosis in a registered NSW greyhound based on the Central Coast. All trainers are urged to monitor their greyhounds and exercise vigilance. Further information can be found via our Industry Update bit.ly/4glWiMa @Thedogs_com_au

You know that report is extremely flawed. Greyhounds provided 37% of distributions but received half of that with other racing the beneficiaries. Tas made far more from greyhound racing than it gave back. Tas just opened a $40 million hole in its budget.
#politas #GreyhoundRacing Extract from Eslake Report on dog race funding. Dog racing maims and kills dogs and fleeces taxpayers. It’s a fact. Link here: sauleslake.info/the-funding-…

We're hearing lots of noise right now and not a lot of direction about what to with regard to Tassie. Here's the message no one wants to hear: LET IT GO and here is why:

hahaha - less than 3/4's of an online secret poll of 110 people with zero other information. The utterly deluded one is the one trashing her own journalistic credibility to fit her own personal bias. I'm sure Australian's would expect much better from an OAM.
Three quarters of Tasmanians support the dog race ban. Utterly deluded and out of touch.

Turnover on all Tas Racing is less well than 10% of national. No one will miss it, other than the Tasmanian's Rockliff has screwed over. Make no mistake, all racing there will end long before 2029. $40 million less for the state. More after economic activity those $'s create

Inaugural speech of @jeremyrockliff 2002 "I wish to conclude on three values .. I hold dear .. The first is compassion. The second .. is commonsense. The third .. is commitment" Like the commitment to support greyhounds given a few weeks ago to his own electorate. Spineless

Clearly compassion and commitment only extend as far as self preservation allows.

The Green's latest muppet is at least a 2nd generation fat lamb producer from Tassie's NW. Fat lambs are killed between 6-8 months of age. Greyhounds cannot be euthanaised by law at any age. What deals have been done for The Greens to jump in bed with a fat lamb producer?

None of this has anything to do with animal welfare or other issues in other industries, including the other racing codes, would be addressed first. This is pure unadulterated class warfare. Punching down on those the political elite consider less than themselves.

These "collar up" type farmers consider themselves the landed gentry in Tassie @jeremyrockliff thinks he's one of them punching down on the under class greyhound participants. Meanwhile 40% of Tassie is on welfare.

Has there ever been a political career that started out so positive, and is now ending so helplessly needy? I doubt even The Greens will back him at this point. Wilkie will leave Parliament with more pokies in Tasmania than when he started. But he got paid well to be there.
So the bloke whose whole facile political career has been anti-pokies, and has generated not one iota of change there ; is now changing stance to something he thinks he can score an opportunistic long-awaited win with? How principled these politicians are. Spineless jellyfish.

Australia's richest pirate, who only pushes his personal ideological hobby horses; get another earn. How much of the pirate's $23 million house sale will be allocated to support his passionate beliefs? I'm tipping not once cent. Hanky budget will be higher.

100 anti racing activists get a free kick from an worthless online poll, prolly on Facebook. When did Australians become dumb enough to believe this rubbish? The "report" doesn't even define the data. It's agenda-driven dribble.
A bit of a wake up call for the furious dog racing people that their industry is incredibly unpopular. #politas

Yeh lets base all our irreversible eternal decisions on what is likely a very biased unrepresentative online vote of 100 morons. If you'd ask them should all racing be banned? The numbers would be the same. Should we ban cows? Same Should we ban farming? They'd be the same.
#GreyhoundRacing very strong support here for nation-leading decision by @jeremyrockliff Most Tasmanians really do hate dog racing. Good politics and good heartedness align.

We should campaign not to bet on any Tasmanian racing at all. The assumption is that greyhound punters will still bet on other racing & the tax income will be retained by the state. This will upset some, but stripping them of all racing income is the only way to be heard.

Tasmanian harness & horses will end regardless once the woke grubs get this validation and platform to campaign on going forward. That validation will be used in other vulnerable states like SA, and then WA, and NT. Just think, Tas doesn't happen without NSW and NZ.

It's like a cancer. Withdraw all betting on Tasmanian racing !!!! They are doomed anyway if this decision isn't reversed.
