The reason I like staying up late so much is because between the hours of 1am-5am, the world is quiet and no one expects anything from me. I could stare at my wall for 4 hours and there would be no consequences. It’s so silent and calm. I love it.

Been playing early Maiden today… might be one of the greatest 4-album run in metal 🔥 Iron Maiden → Killers → Number of the Beast → Piece of Mind Zero skips. Number of the Beast takes it for me 🤘 What are you picking? #IronMaiden #NWOBHM #HeavyMetal #VinylCommunity #NowSpinning #Metalheads #VinylCollector

“The only thing an old man can tell a young man is that it goes fast, real fast, and if you’re not careful it’s too late. Of course, the young man will never understand this truth.” — Norm Macdonald

Bob Odenkirk drops a heartbreakingly beautiful truth on Mike Birbiglia: “Who are you jealous of?” “Anybody who’s still got little kids at home growing up. No question.” He explains: When his kids were young, he knew exactly who he was every single day. “I didn’t have to ask myself, ‘What am I doing here? How can I be meaningful today?’ The answer was simple: Pick up everything between here and the door, make sure they get to school, have a laugh with them. You absolutely know who you are. You’re a dad.” The quiet ache of purpose fulfilled—and now missed. Hits hard for anyone who’s been there (or wishes they were). Dads (and moms) who’ve had that phase: Does this resonate? Parents still in the thick of it: Do you feel that clarity every day?

CHOP IT DOWN - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble perform “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” at Austin City Limits in 1989. For a guitarist, being compared to Jimi Hendrix is like an amateur basketball player being compared to Michael Jordan. Luckily for Stevie Ray Vaughan, he was one of the very few who ever picked up a six-string guitar and stood on the same level as that shaggy-haired psychedelic blues master. It was certainly a compliment Vaughan cherished, because Hendrix was the one who inspired him, even amplifying the sound of his electric toothbrush far beyond the Spinal Tap's recommended level of 11.🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥
