No one saw this coming from the guy that wants to reduce the population?! They are spraying this garbage on a bunch of foods as a pesticide. Since organic foods don't allow pesticides, they call it an anti fungal and spray it on the organics too!

How to SCROG Autoflowers (thread) Many growers confuse the Screen of Green (SCROG) method with Sea of Green (SOG), but they are quite different. SCROG utilizes a screen to guide plant growth horizontally, optimizing light exposure for better yields. While using SCROG for autoflowers has been debated, many growers have successfully applied this technique to maximize their harvests. Let's dive into everything you need to know about SCROG for autoflowers. What is SCROG? Screen of Green (SCROG) is a training method where a net or screen is used to encourage horizontal rather than vertical plant growth. This approach maximizes light exposure to the main colas, helping plants produce bigger buds. The screen is placed just above the plants, allowing branches to grow through it. Once they emerge, growers weave or tie them to the screen, directing their growth to create an even canopy. --- Can You Use SCROG with Autoflowers? Yes! SCROG works well with autoflowers, as it's a low-stress training (LST) technique that doesn’t interfere with their short life cycle. Gently weaving branches through the net optimizes light penetration and improves airflow, leading to bigger yields. This method is especially beneficial for indoor growers with limited space, as it allows multiple plants to thrive in a single grow tent efficiently. --- When to Start SCROG with Autoflowers? You can begin SCROG around the third week after germination, once your plants are sturdy enough for training. A good rule of thumb is to start once the branches reach the edge of the pot. Since autoflowers grow quickly, early training is crucial to take full advantage of the method. --- Benefits of the SCROG Technique Although SCROG requires some extra effort, the benefits make it worthwhile. Here’s why many growers prefer it: Stronger Support: The screen reinforces branches and prevents them from bending under the weight of heavy buds. Bigger Buds: With improved light exposure and support, plants focus more energy on producing larger flowers. Efficient Energy Use: Similar to the Sea of Green (SOG) method, pruning lower growth redirects energy to the main colas for better bud development. Space Optimization: SCROG allows for better use of small spaces, making it ideal for grow tents or areas with limited height clearance. --- Challenges of the SCROG Method Before using SCROG, consider some of its drawbacks: Harder with Mixed Strains: Indica and Sativa strains have different growth patterns, making uniform training difficult. It’s best to SCROG plants of the same strain for consistency. Restricted Access: With a net in place, watering and maintenance can be tricky. Many growers use drip irrigation to simplify the process. Time-Consuming: SCROG requires constant monitoring, as branches need to be guided and secured to the screen regularly. --- Step-by-Step Guide to SCROG Autoflowers Using SCROG for autoflowers differs slightly from photoperiod plants. Follow these steps for successful training: 1. Gather materials: You’ll need a screen, scissors, and stakes. Popular options for screens include plastic mesh, chicken wire, nylon netting, or hemp string. 2. Secure the screen: Attach it to a frame or stakes about 20–25 inches above your plants. Ideally, this should be done when plants reach 12 inches in height. 3. Train the branches: As branches emerge through the screen, bend them back under and secure them horizontally with soft plant ties. Repeat as the plant grows. 4. Prune lower growth: Once the upper canopy is established, remove unnecessary lower branches to direct more energy to the top buds. With experience, you’ll develop your own approach to SCROG, adjusting the method to your specific strain and grow setup.
