There might be a few on here that remember the movie The Towering Inferno. Talked about a San Francisco skyscraper that cut corners and the building safety wasn't 100% and it burned. Fast forward to 2026. A 1 million square foot medical supply warehouse in Tracy, CA was fully engulfed in flames in 40 minutes. Fire crews reported that sprinklers were not working and there was no water pressure to building fire connections. Inspections were passed by a 3rd party company...not by the fire departments. I bring up the towering inferno because this was the size of a skyscraper on its size. 24 hours later as I drove to work, smoke and fire could still be seen with water being pumped into the building. Millions of gallons of water. Go look it up. The videos are amazing

I am extremely bummed about news of Social Security. As Gen X, we thought it might be there when we retired but we were always told it would go broke. I am going to be 52 this year. 13ish years from retirement. I am saving in my 502K and IRA but to hear that social security would fundamentally be broke by 2032 and completely insolvent by 2034 was a kicker. What pisses me off the most is when it had been floated to take our social security taxes and put them into a private investment account, baby boomers all got so fucking mad because we are paying for them.
