@EFL: Gives #WBA a 2 point deduction due to retrospective changes to rules regarding charitable donations made to the Albion Foundation. Also @EFL: Uses a photo of someone from the Albion Foundation Charity as the header photo for their @EFL_Community Twitter page. Fuck the EFL

Yes Lewis!! #UPTAF
Volunteers working with Blind Dave with The Albion Foundation here to be marked for their incredible work after a long cycle ride to The Hawthorns from Ipswich. What an brilliant effort and feat. 175 miles. Trying to post with no comment of irony. #wba

In trying circumstances, James Morrison has performed wonders at West Brom. Albion looked doomed before he took over as interim. They're now unbeaten in nine and staying up barring a damaging points deduction. Morrison dealt well with all the uncertainty over the threat of a deduction. He understands the club, played 341 times for them, is now in third spell as caretaker/interim, and has a connection with fans. Players clearly respect Morrison, are playing for him and playing well. Permanent appointment? That brings different challenges but so far Morrison has shown he can handle a challenge. #WBAFC

I wrote this after the Millwall game. The quiet, understated genius of James Morrison and the miracle he’s pulling off at West Brom. A few weeks ago we were Leicester. We were done. I didn’t see this turnaround coming with these players. What a man #wba open.substack.com/pub/danhew…

At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.

Of all the stupid stuff I’ve read recently about our team - this has got to be one the most stupid 🫠
Wish this prick would let his feet do the talking for once. All I see is him spouting the same drivel every 5 minutes in front of any camera he sees to then go and drop a 3/10. Stop telling us you need to do more and just fucking do it.

What you do before kick-off says everything 👀 First clip: Chelsea players arriving at Hull, walking past the Wolves mascots lined up to greet them. Don’t get me wrong… I understand focus, and have been in dressing rooms where you’re locked in. But these are kids who’ve probably counted down the days for that moment. A smile, a quick high five, a simple “how you doing?” It genuinely takes seconds 🤷‍♂️ Then the next clip: José Mourinho going down the line before a game, high-fiving mascots from both teams. It’s not a big performance, it’s basic respect. Those kids and their families are the foundation of the sport - they’re the ones buying the shirts, travelling home and away, saving up for those matchday experiences. Because long after the final whistle, it’s these gestures that people remember!! Not a good look for Chelsea 🫣

Yes!! Very happy with the sensible decision to bring back Mark to help steady the ship - as we did with Mark Jenkins not long ago. He knows more about @WBA than anyone else. He and Ian Skidmore were crucial post Lai, saw us through a very worrying time. Welcome back Mark.
Just another quiet morning at The Hawthorns 🤯 The return of Mark Miles will hopefully bring some much needed stability, experience and guidance behind the scenes at Albion. He’ll report directly to Shilen Patel. He’d been at #WBA for 22 years before leaving 5 months ago.

So many talents nurtured by West Bromwich Albion. So many clubs benefiting from their work. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba started out in West Brom’s academy…. So did Louie Barry, Tim Iroegbunam and Finn Azaz… 1/2

Everyone at the Pukka Night was asked to respect the players and not publicise what was said. Put phones away and enjoy the evening. But you feel the need to repeat everything they shared - Future guests won’t trust the room, knowing you’re going to put everything on X 1/00🤪

Feedback is put more trains on post game (even if it requires a train to be 5mins waiting at the Hawthorns) Also if services need to be cancelled due to staff shortages … look at the logistics and which services are needed … last night was clear that the train was needed!

Being an Albion fan rivalry with Villa is par for the course- But this turns my stomach… Sad not being able to take family to support your club because of fear created by this nasty little gnome & his mates -well done for restraint shown walking past these disingenuous clowns
UP THE VILLA‼️
