The journey to the National Finals continues. The 8th Edition of Sports for Change (SFC) Zone 3 - North East Qualifiers concluded successfully in Guwahati, bringing together over 150 young athletes from Assam, Nagaland, Sikkim, and West Bengal for two days of spirited competition, teamwork, and sporting excellence. From closely contested football matches to high-energy Kho-Kho encounters, the qualifiers showcased not only athletic talent but also the confidence, discipline, resilience, and leadership that sport helps nurture in young people. As these young athletes earn their place at the Sports for Change National Finals 2026, the momentum continues with Zone 2 and Zone 1 qualifiers still ahead. Alok Prajapati’s selection in the Indian Army under the Agniveer Sports Quota marks an inspiring milestone shaped by years of dedication, discipline, and consistent performance in football. Supported under Sports for Change by HCLFoundation since 2020, Alok steadily progressed through district, state, and national-level competitions, securing a gold medal at the state level and representing at the university level. Alongside his sporting journey, he also received scholarship support through HCLFoundation’s My Scholar programme. Despite personal and financial challenges, Alok remained focused on his training and studies, continuing to work towards his goals with determination. Access to structured coaching, sports kits, and tournament participation support further enabled him to pursue the sport with confidence and commitment. Advancing conversations on inclusion and equitable opportunities. HCLFoundation co-celebrated the Inclusive India Summit 2026 with the National Association for the Blind (NAB), New Delhi, on the occasion of the Global Awareness Day of Inclusivity at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The summit brought together stakeholders from the corporate, government, and development sectors to strengthen dialogue around inclusion and equitable growth for persons with disabilities. We were honoured by the presence of Ms. Aditi Nawani, Global Practice Director, HCLTech, who delivered a keynote address reaffirming HCLTech’s commitment towards fostering inclusion and creating equitable opportunities for persons with disabilities. During her recent visit to Vijayawada, Dr. Nidhi Pundhir engaged with communities, institutions, partners, volunteers and young learners. The visit marked the inauguration and handover of a purified drinking water unit in Gannavaram, expanding access to safe drinking water for nearly 1,000 community members, alongside the development of sports infrastructure and distribution of sports equipment benefiting approximately 2,000 students across government schools. She also reviewed plans for a new Yuvakendra facility, interacted with academic scholars and their families, engaged with volunteer leaders and participated in Vijayawada partner convergence discussions focused on strengthening implementation and impact delivery. An interaction with Acharya Nagarjuna University leadership further explored opportunities for deeper academic engagement and collaboration. Inspiring leadership meets grassroots impact! Over two impactful days in Hyderabad, Dr. Nidhi Pundhir engaged with communities, partners, volunteers, educators and women entrepreneurs. From inaugurating a Yuvakendra dedicated to empowering hearing-impaired youth through skilling and employment opportunities with partner Swekaar, to engaging with partner organisations on strengthening grassroots impact, the visit highlighted the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change.
