Think I just spotted an Asian hornet outside my window... couldn’t get close enough in time but it was ~3cm in length! Very cool, but not sure I want to see it again.

As a molecular ecology PhD researcher working on a climate change project, I felt bloody awful going through hundreds of thousands of pipette tips. It’s not sustainable and it’s embarrassingly ironic for me to bang on about doing what you can to save the world at the same time 😂

This week Atlantic #salmon were tagged as part of the @SeaMonitor1 proj. They will be tracked as they travel north to their feeding grounds. A wave glider will be deployed next week with a VMT receiver attached, here’s hoping for plenty of data! @loughsagency @VEMCO #marine
