Preliminary forecast of widespread moderate rainfall across Southern California, with the potential for amounts greater than 0.5 inch from the mountains to the coast, and lesser amounts in the deserts. Some areas will see the potential for accumulations over 1 inch. Much of the United States will see precipitation over the next week, with several areas of heavy rain: the Pacific Northwest and the Deep South.
