🇲🇰 Trapped in North Macedonia. Around 600,000 of North Macedonia's citizens won't be allowed to travel starting today as the passports not containing the country’s new name, Republic of North Macedonia, won't be valid anymore. The state authorities failed to issue new ones on time. According to the Minister of Interior "it is physically impossible to issue all the documents by the deadline". As part of the Prespa Agreement, North Macedonia has agreed to invalidate travel documents using its former name. This marks the end of a five-year transition period following the resolution of a name dispute with Greece.

🇽🇰 Serbs in North Mitrovica protested against Kosovo's euro-only policy, which prohibits the use of the Serbian dinar. The protest was supported by the union of Serbian workers employed in Serbia's parallel system in Kosovo, and the Serb List party.

The government of Kosova, within its competences, will not enforce any punitive measures during the transition period and is calling on other pillars to maintain the same stance dutifully. We are working on more comprehensive information, which we will unveil in the coming days.
