The first European screening of Under the Same Sky, a powerful 360° doc on #Gaza, took place at Norway’s top journalism event, SKUP. Our Executive Editor @Hadeelarja shared the story behind the film and its mission to amplify unheard voices.

#GAZA While you sit in your home or office under a sky where you can walk peacefully or let your children play without worry, there are people under the same sky, only a few kilometres away, who have been enduring death and daily struggles to secure the simplest necessities of life for more than a year. Under The Same Sky" is a 38-minute VR documentary that takes you to Gaza and makes you question whether we truly all live under the same sky. Here’s some feedback from participants at the @ARIJNetwork conference, where they had the chance to watch it using VR headsets. @FrontlineInFocu #ceasefire

After the first screening of "Under the Same Sky", we interviewed participants who experienced the film through virtual reality headsets. The film by @FrontlineInFocu immerses viewers in #Gaza, letting them live through the daily lives and challenges of the people there. This feedback is from some participants at @ARIJNetwork conference, where we had the opportunity to showcase the 38-minute VR documentary that takes you to #Gaza and makes you question whether we all truly live under the same sky.

دخل الصحافي خليل عشاوي إلى منطقة التضامن، بحثاً مع سكان المنطقة عن موقع "مجزرة التضامن" التي ارتكبها جنود النظام السوري عام 2013، ولم يجدوا سوى بقايا عظام بشري. يشرح سكان المنطقة كيف أخفى نظام الأسد معالم الجريمة وهدم نحو 4 أبنية كي لا يبقى أثر أو علامة على المكان. كما أفاد سكان المنطقة بأن هناك أكثر من حفرة/ مقبرة جماعية ما زالت غير مكتشفة بعد، خصوصاً أن النظام عمد إلى طمس معالم الجريمة. المجزرة التي كشفت عنها صحيفة "الغارديان" عام 2022 موثقة بتسجيلات فيديو أثارت جدلاً عالمياً، وأضيفت إلى سجل جرائم النظام السوري، والمتهم فيها أمجد يوسف، الذي ما زال مكانه غير معروف حتى الآن.
