🚨non-SPCX post🚨 In the last week, @Polymarket has had its 3 biggest days of volume ever with over $800mm on Wednesday and over $700mm on Tuesday. The CFTC regulated US business was larger than the int’l business on all three of those days. Looking at the data, it seems potentially like this will be the month the US business flips the int’l business in both volume and fees. OI not yet as the US business is still more focused on shorter term markets.

1/ Last October, I crashed a 🇨🇦 diaspora event in SF. I was the only non-Canadian in a room eating poutine. My 5 years at Shopify served as my passport. On my way out, I stepped into an elevator and bumped into Jordi @positiveblue2 Today, @sapiom acquired his company, @fewsats

Rain is on the inaugural Fortune Crypto 100. The list features crypto natives ranked alongside the largest institutions in finance. Another sign that an industry once defined by speculation has become financial infrastructure that moves real value at global scale. Rain makes tokenized money work inside the systems people already trust, and gives neobanks, platforms, and developers the tools to build the institutions of the future: ones that will use stablecoins to complete payments for humans and AI agents alike. Today, 100 programs settle billions of dollars a year this way without having to think about it. Internet-native money was always going to be next. Thank you, @FortuneMagazine, for marking the moment.

I have met very few people as forward thinking and thoughtful about how businesses will build and formulate in an agentic future.
Proud to announce @sapiom is a launch partner on Mastercard's Agent Pay for Machines. When I started Sapiom last summer, "agents paying for APIs" was a weird thing to build a company on. Today it's a Mastercard product line. Machine economy is becoming real infrastructure: continuous transactions, fractions of a cent, settled across cards, bank accounts and stablecoins, no human anywhere. As an initial launch partner, Sapiom anchors the buyer side of this loop. Mastercard provides the network for how machines pay. Sapiom is the control plane for how agents spend. Wallet, budgets, limits, and turning payments into completed outcome rather than just moving money. The smartest model in the world can't do anything if it can't transact. True autonomy requires economic agency and we are enabling it.

Excited to build on our @Mastercard principal membership and partner on Agent Pay for Machines. Payments made by machines will be far more frequent and far smaller than today's systems were designed for. This is another step in expanding support for the agentic future.
As AI agents begin to act, payments move into the background — at machine speed and massive scale. Today we’re introducing Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines — bringing structure, governance, and trust to this new class of payments. Launching with 30 partners to bring this to life from day one. This isn’t just more payments. It’s a new operating model for commerce. 👉 Learn more: mastercard.com/us/en/news-an…

Today we're launching stablecoin payroll for global teams that just want digital dollars, not crypto to manage. Pay lands instantly and can earn while it sits.

First of all: God bless you @ChairmanSelig for acknowledging this in a public forum This WAS a tragedy. I personally know people affected by this brutish behavior Weaponizing a derivatives regulator to wage lawfare against US citizen innovators was & remains a vile disgrace
This was an incredibly informative interview, and it was great to have the Chairman engage so openly on perps, prediction markets, defi, 24/7 trading, and the future of crypto in the US. We’ve rarely, if ever, had this type of openness from an acting regulator. This is a must listen if you care about this space or the future of capital markets in the USA.

It’s not just alternative payment methods and fintech’s - banks and the networks are non, en masse, sending cross border payments on chain. It’s clear where this is going.

Ethena has partnered with Janus Henderson, a $480 billion asset manager, to allocate and support the distribution of their liquid high-quality CLO tokenized funds. As part of the partnership Janus Henderson has made a strategic investment into Ethena's governance token, will allocate into USDe as part of their treasury cash management, and is also exploring avenues to distribute USDe to their client base via exchange traded instruments.

As a former attorney who spent years defending crypto clients against government overreach, I can say this: innovators should not need a defense attorney. Under my leadership at the @CFTC, the days of arbitrary enforcement and regulatory uncertainty are over. We are building clear rules that allow innovators to thrive and markets to grow. Watch:

We asked CFTC Chair Michael Selig why prediction markets matter: "We believe that this will be a really great benefit to society and have really just reliable data" "Having the check of putting dollars at risk makes a big difference. I believe in these markets and I expect to see them thrive in the United States" @CFTC @MichaelSelig

Over the last five years I’ve been continually pitched investment ideas where someone has described them as “a good ponzi” or as something “I don’t believe in it but it’ll make money” and that nihilism and lack of focus on innovation is weighing down the parts of the industry that are actively innovating, making payments and capital markets more efficient and accessible, and building robust systems.
Rob shares his thoughts on Strategy's sale of 32 BTC: "Now all of a sudden the market sees it as he's probably priming us for more sales. And it looks like a Ponzi all of a sudden" "In the same way it can go up it can come down really reflexively" "The fact that we continue to put our hope for the industry in financial engineering and not real world use cases is a big part of the reason we're in the situation we're in" @HadickM
