Thinking of you, @RobGMacfarlane ..
SWINGING SIXTIES-I found this graven image cut out of a newspaper, folded,& used as a bookmark in a copy of Martin Chuzzlewit which I recently acquired from a pop up charity shop. It's dated 1964 and shows a pagan rite being performed near Leigh-on-Sea involving Herne the Hunter

All of Us @NationalTheatre is a must-see. Raging at the suffering and deaths caused by this despicable government’s idealogical austerity, but somehow full of love and humour. Extraordinary.👏👏👏

The government is trying to push through a new law to let companies hire temporary staff to cover during strikes. This would undermine our right to strike and pose big safety risks - sign the petition to stop this happening: the.organise.network/campaig…

Didn’t realise William Nicholson used to live down the road in Rottingdean. Local museum has his dressing gown, braces and Mrs Simpson’s actual boots (thought of you, @jerrysaltz).

Austerity cuts have killed people. This government is despicable.

#OurGeneration @NationalTheatre is a beautiful, possibly landmark piece of work. So brilliant to listen to these smart, daft, sad, hilarious young people (esp when the world’s adults are being such wankers).

I thought so too. I recommend @tinysunbird’s nursing memoir ‘The Language of Kindness’ as a more insightful, less self-regarding account of life in the NHS.
Oh, no. As well as his extraordinary CV, he painted beautiful watercolours and could do amazing dog impressions. A lovely man. Leonard Fenton death: EastEnders actor dies aged 95 | The Independent independent.co.uk/arts-enter…

Tonight I have enhanced for you 4 amazing shopfront autochromes from Reims in France, taken 105 years ago by Fernand Cuville, during the height of the Great War in 1917. These are original colour (not colourised).

Christmas won’t be magical for every child. This year we want to send more surprise festive book parcels than ever before and light up Christmas for 16,000 children who are vulnerable or in care. ✨ Can you help? booktrust.org.uk/xmas?utm_so… #JustOneBook

If a covid case doesn’t take our show down, gvt restrictions might. While we (and audience) do tests, masks, distance, I commute home with pissed unmasked revellers (only doing what PM encouraged). The anxiety and Fury is exhausting.

I know we all love a bit of @EquityUK history… well look what we uncovered. They date from the campaign to expand a West End closed shop in the 1930s- & hint at how brave @EquityWomen led the charge. Soon to be conserved & on display!

Completely overwhelmed during curtain call at first preview of #OVChristmasCarol. Can only hope audience was as happy to see us as I was to see them.
