Congratulations to HapWare (Techstars 2025) on winning the Consumer Technology Association Foundation Health Innovation Challenge at CES! 🎊
The challenge recognizes technology that helps solve real-world barriers for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At CES, HapWare showcased their ALEYE wearable that detects nonverbal and social cues such as emotions, facial expressions, gestures, and body language, and translates them into haptic feedback (e.g. sense of touch) on the wrist in under a quarter of a second.
Founded by Jack Walters, Bryan Duarte, and Gabriella Pangelinan, HapWare's mission is to empower the disability community with confident communication and independence.
And shoutout to Lotus (Techstars 2023) for getting runner-up! Founded by Dhaval Patel, Lotus is a wearable ring that controls objects at home by pointing.
