It's been ~8 months since I put out @artnews pitch call, so, in honor of the new year, I wanted to remind y'all that we are still commissioning. Pitch guide below, and follow this thread for our favs from 2022: bit.ly/3EgakN4

ALT This week, we learned that Brooklyn College’s Tow Center was canceling our daylong event, JC Live, at the eleventh hour. Though the administration has used the excuse of “emergency repairs” to one of its many performance spaces, we have good reason to believe that this was a political decision, intending to avoid platforming voices for Palestinian liberation.
We have been planning this event for over a year, and anticipated over 1,000 in the audience. Scores of participants were scheduled to speak or perform, many of them traveling internationally to be here with us. We are left scrambling, with little time to prepare an alternative.
We will not be silenced. We plan to proceed with our event. We are appealing to our ticket-holders for their understanding while we sort through our options. And we are turning to our community for help. Are you connected to a venue in NYC that is available on September 15th?
Hi all. Nerdy policy wonk who follows Congress closely weighing in with a thread on legislation (getting no media coverage) moving rapidly through Congress that targets US non-profit orgs, with the immediate & explicit target being orgs involved in Palestine protesting.

The IDF posted a few videos of their tour through the hospital. No tunnels, command centers, etc. to be found in any of these clips or pictures. Instead, focus is on "grab bags" of some guns and body armor scattered around, and a laptop next to CD-Rs.

This isn't a Hamas tunnel, it's an old transmitter facility in Sweden.

(Great eyes from folks on the Project Owl server with this too, and I learned a lot about Swedish cold war bunkers!)
“We are Jewish writers, artists, and activists who wish to disavow the widespread narrative that any criticism of Israel is inherently antisemitic.” New: an open letter.

Israeli and U.S. intelligence officials believe that a projectile captured on videos shortly before the Ahli Arab Hospital explosion was a Palestinian rocket.
@nytimes Visual Investigations found that this object was launched from Israel, and likely unrelated to the deadly blast.
New: verified Twitter 'OSINT' accounts are destroying the Israel-Palestine information ecosystem. What used to be a network of reliable experts has been taken over by profit and click driven verified accounts. Everyone loses out. "Unprecedented" levels 404media.co/twitter-verified…
Regular reminder that The Spectator Index is just some guy with a Twitter account, and Walter Bloomberg — even though he tweets like a wire service — isn't Bloomberg, he's just some guy named Walter Bloomberg.
Some of the most measured voices I’m hearing on here, the ones who seem most serious about ending this agony, seem to come from Israelis whose loved ones have just been murdered or abducted by Hamas.
Some examples… 🧵 ⬇️
MSNBC has quietly taken 3 of its Muslim broadcasters out of the anchor’s chair since Hamas’s attack on Israel.
