The Crimean War was fought between 1853 to 1856 and is probably best remembered for Balaclava, the Charge of the Light Brigade & Florence Nightingale. The early photographs of its British soldiers are quite stunning! I wonder how many of you have ancestors who fought in the war?

This government will unite and level up our country. And as we build a new relationship with the EU, I urge everyone to find closure and let the healing begin.

Want to know what brave looks like? Hours before his execution a few days ago, Pastor Lawan Andimi looks calmly into a camera held by a Boko Haram terrorist and says: “Don’t cry, don’t worry, but thank God for everything.”

When it comes to the juxtaposition of the magnificent amongst the squalid, this photo has it all - what an utterly amazing view from the slum gardens of Millwall - the 3-masted barque 'S.V. Penang' in dry dock at the Isle of Dogs in 1932

It's going to take a brave, visionary director to reboot DUNE after the critical and box office flop that was David Lynch's only turkey. Denis Villeneuve (Bladerunner 2049) is that director and Dune is set for release in Dec 2020. Some production art of the Fremen has emerged.

Thank you all for taking the time to like, retweet and comment on this one. I always say I couldn't give a bugger but the reaction to it has put a smile on my otherwise grumpy face

Well said Steve. Happiness need not mean jingoism.

Fenn, my nearly 4 year old daughter, recorded her first ever solo song today. She came up with all the words herself and I helped her a little bit with the tune. It’s called ‘Dinosaurs in Love’. 🦕❤️🦕

The Royal Portuguese Reading Room, built in Rio de Janeiro in 1880-87, is an extraordinary repository of Portuguese literature and history. Over 350,000 volumes, and you can visit there. Looks like it might help if you’re tall… realgabinete.com.br/
