“When I think about the fact that a Black non-Hispanic man in the United States has a life-expectancy at birth of 71.3 years, when we’re pushing out now all of our attention on just over 75-year-olds...one wonders how can you catch up on the equity issue?” @drlouiseivers said.

Despite our best efforts, there has been no adequate response from the Board of Trustees. Nonetheless, we are committed to fighting an equitable workspace, especially for women in medicine. Help us establish change - come join us for our press conference on March 12th!

It’s truly time to retire the misogynist trope that angry men are powerful, yet angry women are unhinged. It’s such gaslighting nonsense. You SHOULD be mad at abuse of power. The real question is how one channels that energy into positive change that creates justice.

Warren was not mean, nor angry. She was effective. And by the way, we are allowed to be angry about racial profiling. You’re allowed to be angry about sexual harassment. Or at big banks committing fraud against single parents. Anger at injustice is quite appropriate.
Mean and angry Warren is not a good look

Tell Sinai leadership that TIME'S UP - we want answers, action and accountability. Come out on Thurs/Fri/Sat 12-1pm to stand in front of Mount Sinai and demand equity and humanity in medicine. #SinaiPeopleBeforeProfit @ShannonOMac @dr_uche_bee @darakass @JumaaneWilliams

“We signal to men in power that they can do whatever they want” -@choo_ek So impressed by Aja Newman's bravery. Medicine has a long ways to go towards serving/centering those who are not white/rich/men. thecut.com/2019/10/mount-sin…

Mount Sinai would like nothing more than for all 8 clients in the gender discrimination case to be silenced. We will not be silenced. We are asking you to join us for a conversation about the systemic gender inequities at Sinai and other academic medical centers on Oct 24th.

There’s no doubt that Medicare was a huge step forward - but racism was actually baked into the program in ways that still affect us today. A mini-thread on how the history has followed us: #MedicareRacialJustice

What is it about the culture of #healthcare that silences us? Why can medical students bravely speak up about bias & harassment at graduation, while faculty speak about it in whispers? thank you @choo_ek for kicking off with the elephant in the room #TimesUp @TIMESUPHC
