This is really bad news. Apparently the version of The Furious screened in HK and Mainland CN is heavily censored & altered with characters & plotpoint deleted and changed. There’s an opening fight scene with a female character gone. Important scenes of the boss changed too

Out of morbid curiosity, I checked out the first negative review of THE FURIOUS on @RottenTomatoes, and lo and behold, that person didn't even pay enough attention to get the basic plot right. 🤣 Embarrassing stuff.

Every time Yugo Sakamoto gets reduced to "the guy who did Baby Assassins", I just want to yell at people. It's so depressing. People are like "He's one of the best young directors in the world" (which I totally agree with), but you guys have barely scratched the surface.

Lastest release info on THE FURIOUS, this time with sources to back it up. Still unsure whether Mainland China is also getting it simultaneously to HK. Really surprised by lack of news from some territories (Spain, Italy, South America, Korea, Japan... hopefully soon)!

The incredible samurai stop-motion short film HIDARI (watch it!) is being developped as a feature film with Keanu Reeves attached as the lead voice actor. I was lucky enough to meet its director Masashi in Cannes and even shake hands with his handcrafted puppet.
