ALT The lives of the leaders, their trauma, body issues and personal struggles are edited, put to music and packaged for our consumption. They are wonderful people and they are also great TV. Each of the leaders deserves to feel safe and supported in their community. They deserve access to health interventions like dietetics, exercise programmes, GP visits and psychological support without having to go on a TV show as a last resort. They are indeed brave and inspirational and I wish them the very best. My hope is that in the future the country will watch robust investigation of healthcare access, socioeconomic risk factors and the myriad of factors that impact health and weight instead of weekly weigh ins. And that when we come together as a community to exercise we do so with joy leaving diet culture firmly in the past.
