We'll be at the @BarnabasYork table-top sale tomorrow morning asking "what makes home, home"? That table around which you gather with family or that bath which soaks away even the day’s worst worries? That front step where you chat with passers-by or that corner shop – let’s chat

It was great to lead a workshop on the difficulty of participation in museums, alongside my co-panellists @ViTsenova and @nualamorse , at the @ACHS2024GALWAY conference. We invited attendees to knot and tie threads as an embodied approach to thinking through a problem 🪢

As the blog says it will be a bit bric-a-brac and a bit bring-and-buy (to use the old fashioned terms) but we also want to see the sale as one of the ways we can start changing our local economy by understanding 'economy' as something we create through our everyday actions.
Blog inspired by @JKGibsonGraham ‘our economy is the outcome of the decisions we make the actions we take'. Let's take ‘economic matters into [our] own hands' and 'create worlds that are socially environmentally just' - one @BarnabasYork table top sale at a time.

Resident chef @singingfoodie wishes it to be known that the cake for Saturday's event is orange and almond cake, made with crowdfarmed Spanish oranges. Music may be the food of lurve, but cake is the food of community-led development

Kathleen Stewart’s session for #WritingtheNow @LeedsARHI was truly incredibly. In the talk she showed how she builds up forcefields of resonance from the elements at play in any scene. It felt a little like falling in love anew with the world its endless complexities potentials.

Most incredible was the consistency between method and ontology – so much so that by asking us (in the writing exercise she proposed) to list that which is elemental in a scene I found that a version (less rich, in my attempts) of her ontology emerge.

I was left with this question for what I am working on (which uses different types of experiment writing methods)… how is liberalism elemental in the scenes of insitutional diversity / participation? In short, it was amazing - give it a watch.
