Loved Leivo’s backhand coming in off the wing and Garret played a key role in bringing Toronto its only professional hockey championship in the last 60 years. #leafsforever
The 2011 draft is best known for the two first-round picks that failed to materialize in Tyler Biggs and Stuart Percy. It is also known for the one that netted them Josh Leivo, who had his moments with the Leafs across multiple years but never could remain a permanent fixture.

We’ll never know, that’s what’s hard for me. “Just bad timing that’s all “ to borrow a phrase from Jim Cuddy.

Huge fan of ya, but come on henny You can’t tell leafs fans “be patient”, after them waiting 9 yrs for him to not disappear in the playoffs games that matter. A 10th Marner playoff in Toronto, would have yielded the same results as the previous 9 totally predictable

Yes he left, no argument there. My beef is that he was perceived to be a failure before we had a chance to know he isn’t. Yzerman and Ovie finally won Cups and Cup deep into their careers. Great talent requires patience.

He left Henny, he left. Your revisionist history ain’t changing that. He left. He took his ball and he left.

Maybe just maybe we had to wait longer than 9 years. Murphy, Kadri, Hyman all had to leave Toronto well before their best before date. Replacing them was impossible, the same goes for Mitch.
The team offered him a massive contract which he had no interest in signing after stringing them along for 2 years. He had 9 chances to do this in the playoffs and never did. Had he done it once everything likely changes. This isn't on the fans or the team. Its on Mitch

Agreed but patience as frustrating as it might be for a starving fan base is hard to find. That fan base might want to think again before wishing goodbye talent as unique as Mitch. The Leafs and Knights seasons were totally predictable.
Would have been nice for the Leafs had Marner done this is any of the elimination games.

2 time World Junior Champion, Olympic Gold medalist, a World Champion…….i’m i missing something here

Yep. He was one of their better players in a series opening 5- 1 win (i think) against TB in whatever yr. But Legit players find that extra gear and are consistent with it. To me Kerfoot didnt have it, and JT doesnt do it for me either. This bothers people, but JT isnt a winner.

Check please !!
Among players with 50 playoff games played since Mitch Marner entered the league, there were only 18 players with more points-per-game than Marner before this year's playoffs. Now there are only 11. Those players are McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Rantanen, Kucherov, Crosby, Eichel, Bouchard, Marchand, Makar, and Guentzel. Decent company. Marner now has 84 points in 85 playoff games - almost a point-per-game playoff guy. There are less than 40 point-per-game players with 50 playoff games in NHL history. I won't list them, but trust me - he'll be in decent company again if he gets there. It. Did. Not. Happen. Overnight. There's no question Marner's playing the best playoff hockey of his career right now. But the biggest reason why everyone's struggling to wrap their heads around Marner's success this year is because they start with the premise that he was an absolute zero in the playoffs as a Maple Leaf. It's a complete fallacy.

Am well thank you but didn’t appreciate the being called Skippy Ken, I’m better than that and so are you

Just keep pushing the goalposts to your narrative

Generational talents don’t wilt every spring under bright lights when they’re expected to be “the man” (1 of 3), and then bolt to a place where they can hide on L2 & finally produce past March. It’s exactly what Kessel did. Mitch is no different - he’s just better defensively.

He’s the 5th leading scorer in Leaf history at age 28. Check the list for the top 4, they’re all in the Hall Of Fame

Your bar for Generational Player is very low Paul. How many generational NHL players in your all time list? 1500? 2000? IYKYK

Once again, he’s a generational talent, why should anyone be surprised !!!
Again, Mitch Marner winning the Conn Smythe Trophy is objectively the funniest outcome of the 2025-26 NHL season.

Yes finally figuring it out in year 10 means he was good the whole time, I am very smart.

Or maybe he’s just really good. Let’s not overthink this.
Many asking my 2 cents : @SamAMcKee was right, they didn’t produce in the games that mattered most 16 , 34 & others. The fact he is suddenly doing so could be, maturity, lack of pressure & fact he isn't facing big strong physical opponents & coaching plus combinations of things

And maybe just maybe it takes longer to win that elusive Cup ?? What if the Wings had traded Steve after 13 years of regular season success but no Cups ?? Ovid 13 years of non Cups ?? We’ll never know in Toronto
Replying to @HennyTweets
If Leafs ended up keeping Mitch it would have been a business decision- not bc they thought he could help them win the Cup. Mitch had 9 seasons to make a difference when it mattered most and was a non factor. The goal is to win it all and Mitch was never gonna do that in TO

Regardless of what Mitch does EVER…..haters just love to hate especially in Toronto. I can appreciate why he wanted out. Oh by the way the Leafs just missed the post season for the 1st time in a decade. #leafsforever
Mitch Marner isn’t a playoff player

Village idiots !!
I feel bad for media here who were just trying to do their job. Junior hockey isn’t just a training ground for players & coaches it’s where officials, admin, operations staff (and a lot I’m leaving out) along with media get their start.
