While I supported @TomSteyer in the primary because of his vision for lowering costs thru clean energy, I believe @XavierBecerra will lead on environmental justice and climate as he has his whole career. Caricatures aside, we need his steady hand to navigate a tricky transition.

Kat and I had the honor of joining the Veteran Surf Alliance this morning for their annual Memorial Day Paddle Out at Capitola Beach in Santa Cruz. Veterans know the cost of war better than anyone. My dad was a Navy veteran who prosecuted Nazis at Nuremberg — he taught me to stand up against injustice and give back to my community. I'm forever grateful for your service, and for the example you set for all of us.

Can’t believe I have to say this, but if you’re a Democrat running to be governor of California, you shouldn’t be taking $39,000 from Chevron, the state’s number one environmental villain. Sadly that’s the case with Xavier Becerra, who has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from oil, gas and utilities over the course of his political career. This is the same Chevron that has polluted communities like Richmond for decades. Bought up local media to spread their propaganda. Thrown environmental lawyers in jail for trying to hold them accountable for oil spills in the Amazon. The same Chevron that is making tens of billions in extra profits by using the war in Iran to gouge consumer at the pump. Whose CEO just sold $100 million in stock to line his pockets. I’ve spent my career taking on Big Oil. Tom Steyer has been a real ally in that fight, joining us to stop Keystone XL and build the fossil fuel divestment movement. Yes, he once invested in oil and gas — but he changed. That’s a good thing. He’s the clear climate choice for CA.
