I luvv explaining the Dutch school system to people. Like yeah so at the end of middle school when ur like 12 you do a standardized test and the score you get decides which of three levels of high school you can attend. Only 1 of which lets you go to actual college. Good luck.

ALT Han Kang also discouraged her father from holding a celebratory banquet at the literary school.
Her father said, "I was planning to throw a party here for the local people, but my daughter told me not to do it. I'm not a nationalist, so I don't prioritize American jobs over foreign ones. But I do care about fair wages and labor protections. Just because something was made abroad doesn't mean it was made in a sweatshop. Just because it was made in the US doesn't mean fair wages.
