Walrus RFP Corruption Concerns: From a Rejected Mature Project to 8 Months of "Stalled Funding" As a long-time Sui ecosystem builder, my team and I submitted a proposal for the decentralized crowdfunding platform "SuiStarter." Our goal? To tackle key pain points in Web3 crowdfunding like high fees, lack of transparency, and project teams pulling a "rug pull" (you know, vanishing with the funds 🥲). We had already deployed on testnet, gathered user feedback, and submitted a fully functional, verifiable, open-source version that's live and ready. But on April 24, 2025, we got a short rejection email from Walrus Foundation
@WalrusProtocol (attached in pic 3), simply saying it "doesn't align with current RFP goals and priorities." We trusted that and thought they found better fits. But eight months later, the truth seems more complicated.
