As vaccines rolled out, and the world began to open, we considered resuming our work. But even with our team vaccinated, we could be carriers. We want to continue our work, but precisely because our goal is to "Protect Human and Animal Heath", we contemplated the costs carefully.

Our work relies on bringing people and their animals together. Our work matters because we go to places without doctors and healthcare. We aim to continue our work responsibly and focus on the long term. Healthy dogs protect people and wildlife. Healthy people protect the planet.
Wildlife live amongst us and when our domestic animals (like dogs) harm them, it is our responsibility to act. Thanks to Purushottam Pokharel for sharing his photo of jackals getting chased by dogs in Khokana, #Kathmandu #Nepal #urbanbiodiversity #HimalayanMuttProject @torvaanser

[2014] Domestic dogs in rural villages depend on food waste to survive. Where there is more food waste, especially during tourist season, there are more dogs. But what happens when the tourists leave? Often they go into forests to hunt for #wildlife conservationindia.org/galler…

CORONAVIRUSES CAUSED BY THE COLD? This photo was taken by #HimalayanMuttProject Leader Mukhiya Gotame in the Annapurna Conservation Area, thought to be distemper-free because of the cold. Our research has shown that dogs have active infections during cold seasons too. 🌨❄️☃️
