One of my favourite interviews I did was Anto Wilkes, a Dubliner who went to Mexico '86 with his dad (John, Cherry Orchard legend) for his 50th birthday and never left. They saw 19 World Cup games incl. the final. Anto married a local and became a school principal in Querétaro 🇲🇽

Where does Galway's trek rank in the furthest a LOI club has ever had to travel for a home game? Shamrock Rovers were also "at home" in Cork in 2003 Galway played at Harold's Cross in 1994. Derry & Limerick have held European matches in Dublin, not to mention Shels in Tranmere

30 years ago today, Man City were relegated from the Premier League in dramatic fashion. After hearing in the crowd that a draw with Liverpool will keep them up, City decide to waste time, but they actually needed a win! Sensational scenes at Maine Road.

🇳🇱 Den Bosch knew a defeat may be needed to stay in the promotion race in light of the convoluted system whereby the best-performing club in each of the four periods of the Eerste Divisie season gets a play-off spot. It created a farcical situation heading into the game, with local betting companies even suspending bets on the match!
