This is Cowley Road, which should be the bustling heart of East Oxford. Instead, it's extremely quiet with businesses either closed or closing early. This street is home to one of the largest concentrations of independent businesses in the UK. Horribly sad to see.
NEW: we donāt reflect enough on how severe the housing crisis is, and how it has completely broken the promise society made to young adults.
The situation is especially severe in the UK, where the last time house prices were this unaffordable was in ... 1876.
I would like every medically qualified Covid-denier & anti-vaxxer on this platform to listen to this testimony. And then - for polluting public discourse with their lethal disinformation, they should hang their heads in shame.
Our destruction of the planetās climate is the ultimate result of a blind, parasitic civilisation which falsely assumed it had the luxury of taking unilateral decisions
1/4 of Greeceās agricultural production capacity vanished in 48 hours. Let that one sink in

Tonight I want to share a true story from the 1970s, when thousands of people became convinced there was a *vampire* lurking in Londonās Highgate Cemetery.
This story has everything: grave desecration, dueling magicians, mass panic. Let the reader beware!
Always good to be reminded why @creationtheatre is my favours theatre company: I saw āThe Signalmanā tonight and itās brilliant. If you are in Oxford, try to get a ticket for the last few shows.
Inosculation is a natural phenomenon in which parts of two different trees, commonly but not exclusively the same species, grow together, self grafting and sharing nutrients
The term emanates from latin- ÅsculÄrÄ«, to kiss
The thinner tree was cut years ago and the big one has been holding and feeding it since then. They "wake up" together in the spring and "go to sleep" together in the autumn.
