ALT 🌾 General Food Distribution Hope Restoration SOUTH SUDAN, with support from the World Food Programme and in collaboration with Mercy Corps, continues to provide life-saving food assistance to vulnerable households in #Leer and #Mayendit Counties of Unity State. In May 2026, food distributions were successfully completed in Leer Town, #Padeah, and #Dindin, reaching over 27,989 beneficiaries, while ongoing distributions in #Thaker and #Dablual reached an additional 8,650 beneficiaries. The distributions are helping families cope with food shortages during the lean season by providing essential food commodities, including cereals, pulses, vegetable oil, and salt. Throughout the exercise, Hope Restoration SOUTH SUDAN ensured protection, accountability, and prioritization of vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, lactating mothers, elderly persons, and persons living with disabilities. With funding support from the World Food Programme, Hope Restoration SOUTH SUDAN in partnership with Mercy Corps, has commenced targeting and digitization exercises of beneficiaries in #Leer and #Mayendit Counties of Unity State. The exercise aims to support over 77,000 vulnerable people through #General_Food_Distribution (GFD), Including children under five years and pregnant and lactating mothers affected by high levels of malnutrition will benefit from the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (#BSFP) for malnutrition prevention. Through our Women-Friendly Spaces, Hope Restoration SOUTH SUDAN delivers economic empowerment programs that enable women and girls to build sustainable livelihoods and achieve financial independence. These include Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), knitting, baking, crocheting, and clay molding skills that allow women to earn an income and better support their families.
