Photos that I took in Angola in October as part of @global_soldiers research: one of the most fascinating trips of my life, layers of visible history at sites where Angolans, South Africans, Cubans & Zimbabweans crossed paths: plus a reference to Vietnam on a Portuguese building.
THREAD: Photos by @drjustinpearce of sites in Malanje province, Angola, used by liberation guerrillas. The ANC, which used the site from the late 1970s, named this building at Camalundu to honour Lillian Ngoyi, a leader of the 1956 Women's March against apartheid. 1/8
