These comments are wild. ā€œBear saw the red flagsā€ oh, you mean after he r*aped her?! I am so goddamn tired of these obsession movie takes. Move on to something else for the love of god or get some critical thinking skills
Why did Bear react like this during the party??? After Nikki smashes the bottle on her face, everyone reacts, EXCEPT Bear. Bear seems almost disappointed?? I don't understand why he wasn't concerned or even angry with Nikki. Nothing but stoicism

Everybody’s like ā€œoriginal horror wins!ā€ which, yay! But also…look how much money Scream 7 made this year lol we will never stop getting franchise slop, unfortunately

Backrooms review plus why are we so mad about Zoomer YouTubers turned filmmakers if they’re actually talented? substack.com/@horrormonal/no…

If you liked I Love Boosters, please also rate it on IMDB. We got flooded w rightwingers that even over a week ago were voting it down based on it being about "shoplifting". However, they had no problem w movies about bank robberies or mafia movies.

Just saw Backrooms. What a weird one. (I do not know the lore.) Interested to know what the public makes of it

Since everyone is rightfully raving about Obsession, an incredibly bleak but arguably necessary and timely movie, here is my plea to check out Red Rooms, an even more bleak but necessary and timely horror that will crawl under your skin and refuse to leave

Obsession is the first movie in quite some time that I’ve had to go back to re-mute some people after seeing their opinions on it. Yikes

It bums me out that Is God Is didn’t do as well this weekend. It deserves the energy too. I love us horror fans to death but we tend to only really show up for the big horror releases and not as much for the other stuff, let’s be real.
No shade to this queen who is indeed amazing but I’m gonna need film twitter to be throwing that same energy towards Kara Young in Is God Is bc my GOD.

I dug Obsession and think this kid is talented and all…but you’re playing in our faces with this reductive comment on TCM, which is, you know, only that little movie that is widely regarded as the cinematic epitome of post-Vietnam war dystopia in America
Curry Barker (Obsession) previews his upcoming TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movie for A24: "I really think that the potential for that series has not been fully realized. I actually feel like a lot of the remakes went the opposite direction than it should have gone." ā€œI’m really excited to do a Texas Chainsaw Massacre that’s not just about a guy chasing some people around with a chainsaw; that has some heart to it. You care about these characters and want to see them survive, and it’s brutal.ā€

The thing about Micheal Jackson is that his story is undeniably fascinating, controversial, and iconic. Him having a biopic is actually pretty warranted, it’s just that said biopic should’ve had way more in common with The Aviator than Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s a deeply sad story

Michael chooses not to examine him as a person, and instead reduces him down to a collection of songs and dances. For as long as I've lived, I've known his fanbase to do the same. Maybe that's why it only resonates with them.

Stop arguing about the subpar Michael Jackson biopic and get 'Is God Is' on your radar. May 15. It’s very good.

Controversies aside, the Michael Jackson biopic is one-dimensional, generic, and sanitized. (Unsurprisingly so.) We learn nothing new about him as a human being. It doesn’t warrant its existence- other than how well Jaafar Jackson captures his uncle’s mannerisms.

And don’t come at me with ā€œhis accusers were only trying to exploit him!ā€ ….his damn family exploited him for everything he was worth. And they did it again with this cash grab of a movie.
