"Looks like you've burned that Bridge then!" me -"I don't think so, as a Sapper, I've dropped the bridge deck, blew the abutments & mined the approaches." It wasn't what I wanted to do, but when faced with something that wasn't right it was best to take action, well best bash on.

I've been asked by an Org to deal with problems in the org, I dig in & get details, answers not believed & then asked for evidence, evidence provided & then told the evidence is the fault of the individuals & not the org. WTF? Then Org adds to problem, and I ask myself why bother

Last Tuesday I was honoured to have been invited to give a History talk as part of the Penistone Arts Week. I looked at the village war memorial & researched the WW1 men that lost their lives & the battles they were involved in. A large number of these were Kitchener Volunteers

At the end of the talk there was some questions and a discussion. The CCF members that attended were very keen to look at the display of 1914 pattern equipment and the kit used my Great War soldiers that I had with me.

It was a great night, despite the weather, & I enjoyed giving the talk, but particularly the researching of the men and the battles. It was also great to chat with a relative of one of the men that had researched.

If you were a follower of Sgt Maj French, his account was hacked but he is back, give him a follow on his new account - He's a top bloke and there is the occasional post about horses....whats not to like!
‘I hear you were hacked, Sergeant Major.’ ‘Yes, Sir.’ ‘And you lost all your followers?’ ‘Yes, Sir.’ ‘Hard to take.’ ‘Most of them were Army officers, Sir, so I really didn’t mind.’ @Kirky_Kirkwood #hacked #horses
