Thank you to Georgia who is running (again) for Hostage International. All funds raised will help our essential work for families and former hostages affected by #kidnap or #arbitrarydetention. The work, sadly, continues to grow: justgiving.com/page/georgia-…

Things do feel heavy at the moment, and many of those we support are desperately worried about their loved ones, but we are here. In order to ensure that we can continue our work, we have to raise funds and as such are holding an event in London, UK:

For those affected by #hostage -taking, the holidays are a painful reminder of absence. Throughout the world the moon and stars have symbolism for many, and for hostages and their families, the moon and stars often represent hope and light and a connection to loved ones.

Lovely to see these pics of our co-founder #TerryWaite receiving this honorary degree. So well deserved for all his work with hostages and their families - work that he continues as a volunteer. #Congratulations #supporting #hostages and those affected by #arbitrarydetentions
🎓 The Princess Royal, as Chancellor of the University of London, conferred honorary degrees on five honorary graduates for distinguished achievements in their respective fields. Recipients included Sir Terry Waite, co-founder of Hostage International, who was captured while seeking the release of hostages in Lebanon and spent almost five years in solitary confinement. Also honoured were Susannah Schofield, who established the John Schofield Trust in memory of her husband, a journalist killed in action, along with Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Kumar Mangalam Birla, and the Reverend Philip Goff.
