Brunson proves he can lead a champion. Towns and OG are the perfect co-stars next to an elite engine. Bridges, Hart, Deuce, Mitch, Shamet, Alvarado all were essential supporting pieces.
Mike Brown maximized the group and helped them reach their ceiling.

If you're a Knicks fan, you have to hope Pistons fans get their wish and this DOESN'T happen.
This an absolute no brainer for Detroit imo that likely catapults them to one of the elite teams in the league. Fans are still underrating Murphy but front offices are not.

But shocking as it may be to some, pairing Brunson with another small guard has been one of the most dominant lineup configurations throughout his entire Knicks tenure 👇🏾

This has basically gone ignored throughout this matchup ( was likely underrated pre-series) but the synergistic advantage the Knicks have is a very real thing.
Their best players can thrive simultaneously (which is why we’ve always been so high in their upside).

In this spot, vacuum PPP (x% FT% vs y% layup%) is not the #1 factor, win probability is.
Fox going to the FT line and taking more time off the clock is better for winEV bc it reduces the bad outcomes (like not scoring)

I don't think De'Aaron Fox made that big a mistake here
He's a 75% FT shooter, so about 50% chance of hitting both FTs
If you can get a strong chance at a breakaway layup and/or drawing a foul you do it
OG made a great play

The Spurs started hunting Brunson relentlessly and doing whatever they could to keep Wemby in the paint.
The Knicks counter by running multiple actions to pull Wemby away from the rim at all costs.
Genuinely one of the most interesting high quality first 4 games I can remember.
