Illicit trade in conflict minerals continues to fuel atrocities by the Rwanda-backed M23 militia & undermine DRC-Rwanda peace efforts. If the Trump admin wants lasting stability it must address economic drivers of this conflict. Durable peace requires more than a press release.

Trump promised no new wars and to lower costs for the American people. Then he launched a war of choice in Iran and sent inflation and energy costs soaring. The American people deserve better.

Trump and @SecRubio slashed American foreign aid, hurting our farmers and small businesses while making us less safe. At @HouseForeign, I pressed Secretary Rubio on why he pushed these cuts despite the obvious consequences.

In 2015 the JCPOA stated explicitly that "under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop or ACQUIRE any nuclear weapons." Now after ripping up that deal and launching a massively costly war of choice, Trump's just reviving that same language in a "new" deal.

The Trump admin's Cuba policy remains trapped in the past. More sanctions, more isolation, more suffering—but no serious plan to empower the Cuban people or prevent state collapse in our own hemisphere. Lift the oil blockade. Reverse 6 decades of failed policy.
The US sanctioned Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and members of his family, ratcheting up pressure on the communist government even further. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Trump, Musk and Rubio slashed aid and scoffed that it was woke nonsense. Now they're seeing that it not only saved one life every 10 seconds but also protected us from diseases like Ebola. Their actions constituted a security failure as well as a moral one. More broadly, their fecklessness contrasts with the courage and humanity of doctors and aid workers in Congo and Uganda, lacking adequate PPE but still risking the virus to care for fellow humans. Trump, Musk and Rubio might learn something from them. nytimes.com/2026/06/03/opini…

Nothing says “Make America Healthy Again” like cutting foreign aid programs that would prevent flesh-eating insects like these from infesting our livestock and making us sick.

A case of flesh-eating New World screwworm has been detected in South Texas, the US Department of Agriculture said. It is the first time this parasitic fly – whose larvae feed exclusively on the tissue of warm-blooded animals – has been detected in US livestock in decades. cnn.it/4uOiPZ4

The House passage of the Ukraine Support Act was a victory for Ukraine, the United States, freedom, and international law. I thank Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks and my colleagues for their partnership in this bipartisan effort. The Senate must follow the House and act quickly to assist Ukrainians as they continue to push ahead toward victory. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-…
