As @SenatorShaheen and @SFRCdems lay out in our new report, the Trump Admin's cuts to our diplomatic infrastructure have undermined America's ability to compete with China. Congress must act quickly to reverse the damage and preserve America's ability to lead and compete.

From what we've heard, the President’s "deal" doesn't address any of the goals that the President had laid out at the beginning of this war.

The public clearly opposes this war because it is driving up costs at the gas pump, the grocery store, and in housing and energy prices. That has real ramifications. People are unhappy because they thought this president was running to address affordability.

Secretary Rubio refused to acknowledge the truth: Trump’s reckless cuts to global health programs, including infectious disease early detection systems, outbreak prevention, and emergency response, is making it harder to respond to this Ebola outbreak—factually, not hypothetically. These programs existed to stop outbreaks before they occur and ensure rapid response when needed. We are now less prepared than we were before, and this Administration cannot keep denying reality when lives are at stake. We need to restore American global health leadership now.

The House and Senate have both advanced resolutions to stop President Trump's disastrous war in Iran.   It's time the President listen to Congress and the American people and end this war.

“Conflict in DRC has made life a nightmare for those living there. And with the outbreak of Ebola, it has severe consequences for the health and safety of the entire region. @StateDept must continue to hold those contributing to the instability accountable.” -@SenatorShaheen
The U.S. is taking further action to address threats to stability and prosperity in eastern DRC by sanctioning senior commanders of two armed groups the U.S. previously designated, the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), and the Rwanda-backed March 23 Movement (M23). SHAHEEN: Let's put pressure on [Russia], let's get them to the negotiating table and let's get a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. That's not going to happen as long as we're pussyfooting around with Vladimir Putin and letting him get away with stringing the President along.
