5️⃣Coaching Notes 📝 for Aerobic Work:
• Aerobic work in swimming is often pushed to maximal efforts,beyond a truly “aerobic state” for the athlete.
• Make most Aerobic work OPTIMAL not maximal. Don’t blur the line. Use other sessions for SPEED.
•The goal is NOT higher peak speed. The goal is maintaining velocity, stroke efficiency, and technical execution while metabolic demand continues to rise & physiological stress accumulates.
🌟 Provide an Indv “exit point” for each athlete based on what they need to perform best!! (Great example in today’s workout)
• Invert the set —> As you get closer to peaking or competition then shift to higher % outputs & less volume.
