The NCAA System is Flawed & needs to be modified & improved. HOUSE V. NCAA knocked down the door to show what flaws & issues were hidden behind…. This is an absolute circus 🎪 of a system right now. There will Unprecedented consequences from this…
Big 12 ADs tell @YahooSports they’ve had “serious” talks on not playing Texas Tech. One SEC AD says there should be conversations about not playing Tech “in any sports.” The Brendan Sorsby ruling has left an industry jarred. “It’s total f***** bullshit.” bit.ly/4uWicN7

An amazing panel! I’m very grateful for @onuss_ helping get me involved in this event to allow for a unique athlete voice to be having more discussions w/ administrators making decisions! The unique position of professional athlete, recent college athlete, & sports law student give me a lot of lenses to advocate for athletes.
Amazing first panel with @samcehrlich @maynenic @HousetheMouse and @willhall3 for administrators on how to move forward thoughtfully in this post-settlement era.

Great week leading NIL & college athletes at AthleteCon3.0 in Las Vegas! Incredible to see the work & expertise @samcehrlich has gained during his time practicing law and working w/ universities. Speaking on a panel together was a great experience! 🗣️OUT OF THE BLUE!!🔵
Super cool to be able to meet @HousetheMouse (of House v. NCAA and the House Settlement) yesterday at AthleteCon! It was awesome to be able to hear a bit of his story and perspective on the case and framework that has shaped a new era of college sports.

“Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.” – Marcus Aurelius 5️⃣Coaching Notes 📝 for Aerobic Work: • Aerobic work in swimming is often pushed to maximal efforts, beyond a truly “aerobic state” for the athlete. • Make most Aerobic work OPTIMAL not maximal. Don’t blur the line. Use other sessions for SPEED. •The goal is NOT higher peak speed. The goal is maintaining velocity, stroke efficiency, and technical execution while metabolic demand continues to rise & physiological stress accumulates. 🌟 Provide an Indv “exit point” for each athlete based on what they need to perform best!! (Great example in today’s workout) • Invert the set —> As you get closer to peaking or competition then shift to higher % outputs & less volume.

This is officially the worst take in sports history… Sitting atop a multi-BILLION dollar Olympic empire built entirely on athletes… Getting paid ~$317,000 USD in the top position. AFTER we just watched 42 athletes make $25 MILLION… All while saying athletes shouldn’t be paid. No athletes = no Olympics. No TV deal. No sponsors. No revenue. Every other major sports league on earth understands this. Every Professional Sports league pays athletes. Calling athlete compensation ‘wrong for sport’ while athletes generate billions and still need second jobs should NOT be just because of “tradition”. Be Better.

bro took creatine & forgot the other ingredient is water 💀…
May 8
Darryn Peterson said a new round of bloodwork and other tests after the season led his doctors to conclude that his use of high doses of creatine led to mysterious and sometimes debilitating cramping.

Creatine has repeatedly been shown to NOT increase dehydration or cramping risk in healthy athletes when hydration/electrolytes are adequate. “the myth of creatine supplementation leading to muscle cramps and dehydration” DOI: 10.1136/bjsm.2007.042473 “Creatine supplementation and exercise performance” DOI: 10.2165/00007256-200434060-00002

Great breakdown by @SethDavisHoops well worth the read! 🏀 Changes like these aren’t always easy! Expanding opportunity. Increasing financial distribution. Creating more access for low-major programs can be structural progress. $2M more to conferences that need it most? That’s gonna be solid impact. That’s sustainability. That’s growth. We can acknowledge discomfort with change while also recognizing when it creates better long-term outcomes. We also often get stuck in the trap of thinking we need to always “make people feel better in the moment.” However, I believe the idea 💡of providing Clarity amongst Confusion is truly what is most valuable & what Seth accomplishes best w/ this article. Decisions should aim to move the system forward. If it doesn’t… learn from it & do better the next time! Progress > comfort “The only real battle in life is between hanging on and letting go.” Shannon L. Alder
One thing people may not realize is if the reported format change is true, six low-major teams (up from two) will receive a second "unit" payment from the NCAA for getting another game. That's an additional $2 million for conferences that really need it.
