This Galapagos shark is rocking the mustache!
These parasitic copepods living at the end of the sharks snout were first recorded in Ascension's waters in 2021.

Last week we deployed 42 moorings throughout Mahone Bay!Β
Acoustic receivers on the moorings will detect tagged white sharks (and other fishes, sharks, etc.,) in the area over the summer, and we will download the data in the fall when we pick them back up.Β π¦
