Last week, Gov. @iamwesmoore signed two mental health bills into law that will increase mental health access at two critical life stages—helping new mothers and students across the state get the mental health care and supports they need.
🤱 Perinatal Mental Health Coverage (SB 891/HB 1118)
Maryland will now require routine mental health screenings during the perinatal period and strengthen referral pathways to care, helping ensure patients are identified early and connected to appropriate mental health treatment and support services.
These are more than just policy wins. They're deliberate investments in mothers, children, and the communities that surround them, and we're proud to have been part of pushing it forward.
